FestNet is a fantastic, free resource for anyone involved in the management and organisation of cultural Festivals in Regional Victoria. FestNet is not just a web site - it includes a regular monthly newsletter packed with news, information and resources; training and professional development opportunities; and most of all, the chance to network and communicate with other cultural Festivals around Victoria. FestNet is produced and managed by Regional Arts Victoria, the peak regional arts organisation in Victoria and one of the State Government's twelve major cultural organisations. Late in 2004, FestNet received funding through Arts Victoria’s Local Festivals program to undertake an innovative project aimed at strengthening regional festivals’ capacity to deliver exciting arts programming. Called Directions, the project comprised six regional festivals being mentored by three experienced artistic directors familiar with working in regional Victoria.
A FestNet Regional Festivals Forum on Artistic Direction. 11am – 5pm, Sunday 3rd April, 2005, Castlemaine Gaol. Presented by Regional Arts Victoria in cooperation with the Castlemaine State Festival.
The FestNet Newsletter is produced each month, especially for registered members of FestNet. It includes News, Events and Employment Opportunities from the Festivals sector, along with Resources added recently to the FestNet web site.
